Spoken Word Showcase at Dayton Book Expo – April 28

On Saturday, April 28, authors from across the nation will gather for the third annual Dayton Book Expo. In addition to book signings, the one-day expo will feature panel discussions for aspiring authors, spoken word presentations, and activities for children in the Kidz Zone.

The event will be held from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm in the Great Hall at the Ponitz Conference Center on the campus of Sinclair Community College, 444 West Third Street. The family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

The new genre at the expo this year is poetry. In addition to having several authors of poetry, expo officials have incorporated a spoken word session to showcase meter and rhyme. From noon to 1:00 pm, area poets and two Dayton authors will bring to life the written word with inflections, movements and unique expressions. Please see this flyer for more information on the Spoken Word Artists and Authors Showcase at the Dayton Book Expo.

The Angel Auto Network

Through its financial literacy program, the CDCRC encounters many individuals who have barriers blocking their access to employment. One of the significant barriers is often the lack of reliable transportation.

In order to help meet these transportation needs, the CDCRC has partnered with Dayton-Xenia Auto to create an automobile donation program called “The Angel Auto Network”. Through the generous donations of automobiles by caring individuals in the community, we are able to provide safe, affordable transportation to some of those most in need.

We are seeking individuals who are willing to donate their used vehicles for the “Angel Auto Network”. Please consider being “An Angel” to someone in need. Please contact us today at (937) 223-5966 to arrange a quick, no-hassle pick-up time for your donated vehicle.

Follow this link for more information about the Angel Auto Network and to see the requirements for individuals who would like to obtain a vehicle through the network.
