On Saturday, April 28, authors from across the nation will gather for the third annual Dayton Book Expo. In addition to book signings, the one-day expo will feature panel discussions for aspiring authors, spoken word presentations, and activities for children in the Kidz Zone.
The event will be held from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm in the Great Hall at the Ponitz Conference Center on the campus of Sinclair Community College, 444 West Third Street. The family-friendly event is free and open to the public.
The new genre at the expo this year is poetry. In addition to having several authors of poetry, expo officials have incorporated a spoken word session to showcase meter and rhyme. From noon to 1:00 pm, area poets and two Dayton authors will bring to life the written word with inflections, movements and unique expressions. Please see this flyer for more information on the Spoken Word Artists and Authors Showcase at the Dayton Book Expo.
