CDCRC is working under contract to DMHA to provide this Homeownership Training Program to Dayton’s public housing residents, as an extension of our existing financial literacy education services. Classes are being taught within Dayton and surrounding communities.
Classes are based upon Black Enterprise Magazine’s Declaration of Financial Empowerment, which allows each individual or family to make a tangible step toward commitment to financial literacy by signing a declaration that has ten decrees. The first principal is to use homeownership to build wealth. We must all share in the important skills of home evaluation, purchase, and long-term maintenance for this ultimate success.
Participants can expect to be engaged in direct training and counseling for eight (8) weeks. Pre-assessments of workshop applicants is required. Classes can be 2-4 hours and workshop sessions will last five (5) weeks. Individual counseling sessions will continue for three additional weeks.
